Are you a paddling enthusiast with the passion and energy to increase participation in canoeing and kayaking and to support club recruitment and development?

Belfast Activity Centre (BAC) wishes to recruit a Senior (Outdoor Adventure Activities) Instructor with a strong focus on the promotion and development of canoeing and kayaking at local and national (NI) levels. This position, assigned to job title Club and Workforce Officer, will support a partnership between BAC and Canoe Association NI (CANI) and is grant funded through Sport NI until 2021.

Senior Instructor / Club and Workforce Officer

Applicants must be able to demonstrate a strong passion towards increasing long term participation in paddling. This will be achieved through supporting club activity including development opportunities for coaches and volunteers within the sport and through delivering programmes and courses within the area which will impact the targets in the CANI strategy and operational plan through for sport and recreational purposes. Applicants will process a minimum of two National Governing Awards one of which must include BC L2 and moderate water leader (4 star leader) qualification (or equivalent) accredited paddling award and will be able to evidence exceptional time and project management skills within a sporting or outdoor activities environment.  

Location:                        BAC, Barnett’s Demesne, Belfast

Hours:                            Minimum of 36.25 hours per week

Contract Period:              Fixed term until 31st March 2021, subject to funding from Sport NI.
