Outdoor (Adventure Learning) Instructors

Belfast Activity Centre (BAC) is inviting appplications from suitably qualified and experienced outdoor activity Instructors to join our dymanic team from January 2019.

Essential recruitment criteria includes:

A minimum of two recognised National Governing Body Awards (NGB) or Qualifications that are deemed to be appropriate to the operational or developmental needs of the Centre and/or the individual projects/programmes. For a new and exciting grant funded programme from 2019 this will necessitate at least one NGB to a minimum L1 paddling (canoeing/kayaking) qualification.

Experience of working with a broad range of people including young people from socially or economically disadvantaged backgrounds or communities, young people with a recognised physical or mental disability, individuals and/or groups from ethnic or minority communities.

Have developed good leadership, training, communication, time management and presentation skills with the ability to be a strong group leader, but also demonstrate the ability to work on own initiative.

Hold a current clean driving license with a licensed (PCV) entitlement to drive a minibus and an entitlement to tow a trailer (D1+E)

An understanding and practical experience of delivering Key Stage 2 and 3 learning through outdoor adventureous activities would be considered an advantage.
